All of our jewellery is made from 925 Sterling silver with rhodium plating. One characteristic of sterling silver is its tendency to tarnish over time. To enhance the longevity and appearance of our sterling silver jewellery, a thin layer of rhodium plating is applied. Rhodium is a rare and valuable precious metal. This plating creates a protective barrier, safeguarding your jewellery from environmental factors and helps maintain its brilliant finish.
Cleaning your jewellery:
We recommend using water and a delicate soap when you notice your pieces looking a bit discolored. Using any harsh or abrasive cleaning products could remove the plating. Rinse with warm water and dry with a clean, soft cloth. You can also polish with a jewellery polishing cloth.
With our silver jewellery, it is best to remove these when entering water, particularly pools and spas as the chlorine can cause damage. Chemicals from product such as perfumes, lotions and shampoos can also damage your pieces. The chains are delicate and can be stretched easily and cause weakening. Handle it gently to avoid any unnecessary stress on the chain. Be mindful of activities that may subject your jewellery to rough surfaces, which can cause scratches. Remove your jewellery when engaging in sports or any activity that may cause impact.
When not wearing your jewelry, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a jewellery box or pouch to prevent scratching and tangling.
